Professional Training and Certification
I practice Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health issues and psychological stress.
I am also trained in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) which provides experiential opportunities for healing and transformation, undoing of aloneness and the establishment of a safe and secure therapeutic relationship.
Equally important is my experience with Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I find it extremely helpful to improve my clients’ ability to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and learn to be mindful and interact effectively with others.
In my couple and family work, I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples and families to enhance their relationships and attachment style. I am also passionate about Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to identify and heal painful emotions such as anger and shame and to restore mental balance and harmony. This is an evidence-based approach for treating depression, anxiety, phobias, panic, and physical health conditions.
I also find fascinating the Somatic Sensorimotor Therapy, which is body-based talk therapy, integrating the latest neuroscience research to transform traumatic memories into strengths and resources. I utilize these modalities to resolve developmental trauma, and abuse. With this wide range of training, I tailor therapy to better support my clients’ uniqueness.
