About EMDR
What is EMDR?
EMDR is the most advanced, evidence based modality for the treatment of PTSD and trauma. It is not talk therapy; non-drug, non-hypnosis psychotherapy procedure. The therapist guides the client in concentrating on a memory or emotion while moving the eyes rapidly back and forth (by following the therapist’s fingers, light, or an object). The bilateral stimulation of left and right hemispheres of the brain mimics REM dream sleep at a level, and naturally prompts internal healing process. Freedom from the anxiety of unresolved trauma is possible with skilled and informed therapy.
